San Francisco’s favorite place to dance al fresco, Lindy in the Park, is back.

Get ready to swing in Golden Gate Park every sunny Sunday at “Lindy in the Park,” weekly free event near the de Young Museum, when the streets of Golden Gate Park are closed to traffic and the dancers take over.

This in person event resumed June 20, 2021

Lindy in the Park | Free Outdoor Swing Dance & Lessons
Every Sunday | 11 am to 2 pm
JFK Dr. btwn 8th and 10th, behind the De Young Museum, Golden Gate Park, SF
FREE

Rain and Bay to Breakers cancels, but other than that, Lindy in the Park takes place every Sunday – even on holidays – so even if New Year’s Day, Christmas, or Fourth of July falls on a Sunday, they’ll be out there dancing. On the very rare occasion when they cancel, they’ll make a new posting on their website, usually by 10am on Sunday. Lindy in the Park’s Schedule FAQ

Free Beginners Swing Lessons | Noon to 12:30 pm
Lindy in the Park offers a free weekly beginning swing dance lesson, taught by Hep Jen. The lessons are short, easy and fun and then you can practice your new steps with the whole group until 2 pm.

No partner is required, as they rotate leaders and followers throughout the lesson.
