Iconic SoMa Nightclub Temple Permanently Closing
Thanks to the San Francisco Chronicle for sharing the news that San Francisco’s legendary nightclub Temple, known for big-name DJs and epic (free!) tech parties, is closing its doors.
The iconic 116,000-square-foot club nightclub, which opened in SoMa at 540 Howard Street in 2007, became one of the highest-grossing nightclubs in the country. However, despite previous successes, Temple announced that it is closing permanently, effective May 25, 2024, citing financial difficulties and a changing nightlife environment. Sadly, all 86 employees will be let go.
Currently, Temple’s last scheduled event is on Saturday, April 13 with DJ Baywav.

Situated directly beneath the main room is LVL 55, Temple’s futuristic, lower level. Complete with fifteen VIP tables, a custom-made DJ booth, and open-format sounds, LVL 55 elicits an underground party appeal for guests who prefer to venture away from the main room sound.Entering LVL 55, guests will encounter custom-made LED lights emanating from columns throughout, accompanied with the shaking sounds of our Pioneer sound system. For guests looking for a more intimate nightlife experience, LVL 55 is the ideal venue.
The Skyline Lounge
The Skyline Lounge is the rooftop at Temple Nightclub that is open in the summer months. Enjoy the San Francisco skyline and live DJs as you enjoy the sunsets of the Bay area.Temple Nightclub is a 21+ venue.
