Sadly, there won’t be any cherry blossoms in San Francisco’s Japantown this year.

A mean spirited person decided to destroy the Cherry Blossom trees in front of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California in the early morning on Tuesday, January 5.

They made sure there wouldn’t be any blossoms this year as they destroyed and removed every single branch on each of the trees; some branches were “over 3” thick and the trees 12’ to 15’ feet high” said Paul Osaki, Executive Director.
