After a year of uncertainty, the iconic beer destination will stay exactly as it is

San Francisco’s legendary craft beer institution Toronado is getting a new owner, but regulars can breathe easy.

After nearly a year of uncertainty and a previously stalled sale, the iconic Lower Haight bar is now under contract to be sold to a longtime customer and regular, along with his brother-in-law. Founder Dave Keene, who ran the bar for nearly four decades and helped turn it into a global destination for beer lovers, will remain connected to the business as an ambassador.

The new owners say their top priority is preserving what makes Toronado special, and the bar is expected to continue operating as usual with no immediate changes planned to staff, programming, or its famously no-frills vibe.

Hat tip to SF Gate for the scoop.
