House Speaker seen on camera getting hair done in indoor salon in violation of city’s COVID mandates

Thanks to KRON4 and Daily Mail for letting us know that Nancy Pelosi got her hair done in a San Francisco salon despite the city’s COVID-19 orders.

Nancy Pelosi received criticism after she was seen on camera getting her hair done  in a shuttered San Francisco Salon on Monday. The video showed that she was indoors, inside the salon without wearing a face mask.

This was a day before Mayor London Breed announced the reopening of hair salons and barbershops outdoors. Indoor salons in San Francisco remain closed.

UPDATE: Pelosi called the situation a “set-up” and demanded an apology from the salon’s owner. “I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times. And that when they said, ‘We’re able to accommodate people one person at a time, and that we can set up a time,’ I trusted that. As it turns out, it was a set up, and I take responsibility for falling for a setup”

The SF Gate noted that Pelosi did not address the fact that the situation she described is still a violation of San Francisco’s health order, as salons are currently not allowed to operate indoors, even for one customer at a time.
