The plot of land is zoned for mixed-use development, so it may become housing eventually

Attention fried chicken fans… the popular Popeyes on Divis is up for sale.

Thanks to Socketsite for sharing the news that the plot of land and the 2,000 square-foot building that currently houses Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, located at the southwest corner of Divisadero and Hayes, has hit the market.

The price tag is $2,395,000 which has gone up considerably since the parcel last hit the market in 1988 when it sold for $350,000.

Thankfully, there are no immediate worries for your fried chicken urges. Popeyes has recently extended its lease through 2026, and it has the option to extend for 5 more years twice, which could keep them in business through 2036 — for an impressive 50 years.

However, the corner parcel of land is zoned for mixed-use development, so it is likely that the building could be turned into more housing eventually.
