San Jose’s City Council recently voted unanimously to extend the city’s Al Fresco dining program through the end of 2021, which was set to expire March 31, 2021.

The program was launched in May 2020 which allowed more than 130 businesses to set up outdoor dining in public, city-owned spaces.

San Jose is currently under the state’s Orange Tier which allows indoor dining at 50% capacity, so the continued outdoor dining will be a great benefit for the restaurants to help sustain their businesses and continuing serving additional diners outdoors.
