Castro’s Cafe Flore is finally back after a long 3-year closure. After 47 years, the charming cafe, located at 2298 Market St., quietly closed for regular service during the winter holidays in late 2019, according to Hoodline. At the time, it announced it had switched to an events-only concept.

Now, you can get a sneak peek of the new Fisch & Flore on Saturday, March 4, 2023. From 11 am to 3 pm, you’re invited for light nibbles and refreshments and to share your Cafe Flore stories in the lead-up to its 50th anniversary.

Meet Serhat, the new operator, and hear his vision for sustainable seafood. Plus, scope out its new exterior with refreshed gates with a modern glass fence. Plus, spend some time in its popular botanical native garden that they’re known for.

You’ll get a chance to see the artist concept for the new Fisch & Flore, and yep, they’re keeping the gorgeous garden oasis, plus adding modern amenities (such as an ADA-compliant bathroom, kitchen, and seating) to make the space more accessible while keeping all the charm.
