SF’s Gallery of Jewels Shuts Down After 30+ Years

Mom & pop shop that featured locally designed jewelry forced to close after recent break-in

Gallery of Jewels served San Francisco for over 3 decades. The store was founded in April 1990 by husband & wife entrepreneurial owners Bill Hoover and Dona Taylor; however, the combined loss from Covid-19 closures, continuous theft, and their most recent break-in has forced them to close their doors for good.

Gallery of Jewels recently launched a GoFundMe campaign in September to help them recover from the devastating break-in. The funds were put toward payroll for their employees.

Gallery of Jewels featured designer jewelry handcrafted by local, regional, and international artists.
