San Francisco’s Mission District just got another reason to celebrate La Taqueria. The beloved spot located at 2889 Mission St., famous for its riceless Mission-style burritos and lines that stretch down the block, is officially listed in the 2025 Michelin Guide.

While Michelin has been quietly recommending La Taqueria since 2019, the restaurant only recently shared the news on Instagram, calling the recognition a tribute to “every hand that’s worked in our kitchen, every guest who’s stood in line, and every family who’s shared our food across generaciones!”

Known for fresh ingredients, no-frills counter service, and the legendary carne asada super burrito, La Taqueria has been a Mission District institution since 1973. Owner Miguel Jara keeps it personal, often working the register or handing out roses to customers.

Lines form daily with locals and visitors alike flocking for a taste of this iconic spot. For more than 50 years, La Taqueria has been a San Francisco staple, serving up Mission-style burritos that generations keep coming back for.
