SF’s New Trader Joe’s Finally Opens in Hayes Valley on Friday
Thanks to SFist for sharing the news that Trader Joe’s is finally opening its newest location in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley at 555 Fulton St.
It’s been a long road to opening; we wrote about the newest Trader Joe’s store back in 2021 when they submitted their permit for the 17,000-square-foot ground-floor vacant retail space of the Fulton 555 condo building. At that point, it was expected to open in 2023 or 2024, but finally, the store will host its grand opening on Friday, May 17, 2024, with a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 8:55 am.
The store will be open seven days a week from 9 am to 9 pm, plus features an underground parking lot. Be sure to look for the murals that feature City Hall and the Davies Symphony Hall.
A new grocery store is a welcome addition to the Western Addition neighborhood as the closest supermarket is Safeway about a half-mile away at Webster and Geary, which is set to now close in early 2025 (delayed from its initial closing date of March 2024).
