Thanks to SF Gate for sharing the news that unfortunately yet another Union Square store has closed up shop.

Canadian outdoor apparel and gear brand Arc’teryx quietly closed its only San Francisco store located at 300 Grant Ave on January 15, 2023. On the same day, it also closed its Walnut Creek store, loated at 1235 Broadway Plaza. Both locations opened in 2020 as smaller format retail shops dubbed “icon stores,” which focused on curated collection of the brand’s most popular jackets, outerwear and gear.

The brand still has a presence in the Bay Area with locations in Livermore, Corte Madera, Palo Alto, and San Jose.

Arc’teryx’s closure is another blow to downtown San Francisco which has suffered one of the worst downtown recoveries of any major cities in America.
