Event Details

Since 1977, Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts has joined with other community-based institutions to create an artistic space to celebrate Day of the Dead (El dia de los Muertos), where our community honors the deaths of our ancestors, our family members and our community leaders.

The theme of this year’s MCCLA exhibit is “Death Becomes You/La Muerte Eres Tu,” recognizing:

  • The importance of guiding souls that have lost their way in the journey
  • The need to assist souls who have lingered
  • The nurturing spirits beginning their returns to the spirit realm need

EXHIBITION FEATURES: traditional and contemporary altars, sugar skull demonstration, Danza Azteca, Pan de Muertos, mask making, face painting and more.
