A pretty fun looking (but poorly promoted) mini festival is in San Francisco this weekend put on by Disney+ with props and costumes from their original shows like Loki and Cruella, plus giveways and photo opps.
We actually had no idea that it was in town and only found out about it because of “news” story that ABC7 ran on Friday about the event where it looked pretty much empty. (The “news” story sounded just like a promo video. No surprise since ABC is owned by… you guessed it… Disney)
Giveaways & Freebies: The personalized Disney+ Mickey ears are free if you sign up for Disney+ or The Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+). All the other giveaways are completely free. There’s a spin the wheel experience, a photo booth (with a free physical print out), and a premium Disney+ magazine you can receive.
San Francisco Event / DJ / Art / Props / Costumes: There’s also a live DJ on site, props/costumes from some Disney+ movies & shows, and local artist Maxfield Bala painting a mural of “Ant-Man and the Wasp” (which is set in San Francisco) that will be donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco.
Here’s the details below from the Disney+ website about the event at Pier 27 in San Francisco on August 6-7.
Here at Disney+, we believe that the greatest stories don’t have to end; they can continue and evolve. In Loki, a God of Mischief can find new glorious purpose. In The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, a team of underdogs can become mighty. And in Turner & Hooch, a slobbery dog can turn into an unexpected hero.
This Summer, Disney+ is hitting the road for the Stories Continue Tour!
Join us on our four-city adventure with special photo moments, giveaways, live entertainment, and more including a stop in San Francisco.
