The locally-run Dolores Park Movie Night (not to be confused with the much larger city-wide “Film Night in the Park” event) continues its 2010 season with free movies on the second Thursday of each month in Dolores Park with the Jack Nicholson classic “Chinatown”.
About “Chinatown”: It’s 1937 Los Angeles. Specializing in cases of cheating spouses, private investigator Jake ‘J.J.’ Gittes is tailing Hollis Mulwray, whose wife suspects him of marital infidelity. Mulwray is the high profile chief engineer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
- Date: Thursday, September 9, 2010 – 7:45p
- Film: Chinatown (1974)
- Cost: Free, but your donations and sales of popcorn will help cover costs.
About Dolores Park Movie Night: Please note that this is NOT part of the larger “Film Night in the Park” series. Dolores Park Movie Night is a much smaller local event put on by residents of the neighborhood around Dolores Park as is intended to be a community-building event for those who live in the immediate neighborhood. The screen size is much smaller than “Film Night in the Park” and cannot accommodate large crowds
Oh, and pick up your damn trash after the movie! Otherwise the organizers of this event have to pick up the trash after you. Is that any way to treat the people who are bringing this neighborhood a free movie night in the park?
Upcoming Dolores Movie Nights in the Park for 2010: Permits have been issued for May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14.
