Events at Omnivore Books On Food
Omnivore Books on Food is a teeny Noe Valley bookstore, their shelves packed floor to ceiling with hundreds of new, antiquarian, and collectible titles, on all manner of food and cooking.
The store hosts frequent events including book signings, chef talks, author readings, cooking contests, and food and drink tastings.
Chris Boswell’s Verdure: Vegetable Recipes from the Kitchen of the American Academy in Rome is the Rome Sustainable Food Project’s fourth cookbook (following Biscotti, Zuppe, Pasta).
It is perhaps the ideal collaboration among the kitchen and the Academy garden, the artisan producers, and the organic farmers who provide the impeccable raw ingredients used in each dish. Some are even foraged by the academy’s fellows in field trips to local meadows and forests. Boswell is one of the founding chefs at the Academy. He will be speaking about his new book at Omnivore Books on Food on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
