Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.

On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Bittersweet Celebration | Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

Some say love is bittersweet, but it’s also delicious. This Valentine’s Day weekend, CUESA and the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market celebrate winter’s bounty of bitter and sweet produce, with a focus on seasonal citrus and greens. Come down to the market for a day of tasting, learning, and cooking with these winter delights.

Bittersweet Tasting:

10 am – 1 pm: Sample bittersweet pairings by Chef Nate Keller from Sprig, including crab and grapefruit salad on top of endive leaf paired with an ginger, fennel, and orange “mocktail.” Pick up recipes of bittersweet paired foods and learn how to create pairings of your own.

11:00 am: Jen Musty, Batter Bakery

All demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.
