Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.

The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.

On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

Michelle McKenzie is 18 Reason’s Program Director and Chef. She has a knack for making simple food seem special and is full of amazing tips for making every meal memorable.

Michelle’s food seems at once healthy and hedonistic, elegant and effortless, and always attainable.

Free Samples from the International Culinary Center

From 11:15 to 11:45 am,while supplies last, students from the International Culinary Center’s “Farm-to-Table” program will be sharing dishes they prepared at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market for shoppers to sample. Stop by the CUESA Classroom to meet the students and talk to them about their cooking techniques and farmers market ingredients.

Quantities will be limited, so arrive on time to enjoy all of the dishes being offered.
