Event Details

In 2013, CUESA will celebrate 20 years of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, but this week marks the anniversary of the Ferry Plaza Harvest Market, a one-time event in 1992 that attracted 50 vendors and 10,000 attendees and planted the seeds for the world-class farmers market that thousands of local food lovers flock to today.

20th Anniversary of the One-Time Ferry Plaza Harvest Market
Saturday, September 15, 2012, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Where: The CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building),
FREE, with recipes and samples for all.

  • 10 am – 1 pm: Stop by the CUESA Classroom and share your memories. Bring your old photos and share what the market has meant to you, your family, and community over the last 20 years.
  • 11 am: Join us for a cooking demo with Joyce Goldstein, a local culinary luminary and long-time supporter of the market. She’ll share stories of how the market has grown over the years while she cooks up a delectable fig and tomato recipe.
  • 11:45 am: Learn to eat well with Chef Charles Vollmar, cooking instructor, food consultant, writer, and owner of Epicurean Exchange, just one of the many small businesses in our farmers market community.
