“Alcatraz: Life on the Rock” History & Photo Exhibit | SF

“Alcatraz: Life on the Rock” is a free 3,000 square foot exhibit showcasing Alcatraz Island’s fascinating history and infamous inmates.

Installations include a model of the island and a look at The Rock’s place in history and in movies, a military history exhibit, an authentic replica of a prison cell, as well as “Strength: The Native American Indian Occupation, and “Preserving the Rock.”

Additionally you can check out “Alcatraz: The Last Day” photo exhibition, a never seen before collection by Life Magazine photographer Leigh Wiener.

The exhibit is on view daily at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco from 10 am to 7 pm through October 25, 2013.
