Free 100th Annual Dahlia Show: SF’s Official Flower Blooms (Golden Gate Park)

Annual Dahlia Show – Centennial of the SF’s Official Flower
Each summer, in the third weekend in August, the Dahlia Society of California draws thousands of visitors to its annual dahlia show in the enormous Hall of Flowers (9th Ave/Lincoln).
Growers from all over the state bring their best blooms. Dahlias in all categories are judged and awarded ribbons, including the elusive Best in Show. Other categories include Best Photo, People’s Choice Award, Best Arrangement, Biggest Bloom, Best Junior Bloom, and Nature’s Oddities. Bring your camera. Great for all ages.  Wheelchair accessible.
This is the 100th anniversary of the dahlia being named San Francisco’s official flower!  Special categories and photo opportunities are sure to delight.
