CANCELED: First Tuesdays Free Admission Day: Museum of Craft and Design | Dogpatch

Please note the Museum of Craft and Design no longer has a free day on the First Tuesday of every month. As of 2022 the museum has a “pay what you can” Wednesdays.

Enjoy free admission to the Museum of Craft and Design on the first Tuesday of every month.

After six years in Union Square and two years of pop-ups, the Museum of Craft & Design opened up their permanent location in the historic American Industrial Center in San Francisco’s vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood. Rather than featuring paintings or traditional sculpture, the museum showcases other types of artwork that range from furniture, kinetic sculptures, and jewelry.

Explore the exhibitions and enjoy drop-in art activities for all ages in their MakeArt Lab. This Free Tuesday, celebrate gratitude with a “Dead Nuts” inspired wreath, bedecked with hanging tokens of thanks.

Learn simple metal stamping techniques, then string decorated discs from hose clamps to add to a festive, hangable wall centerpiece.

Hands-on activities are self-led. Educators will be present to help with questions. School and camp groups of four or more, please have adequate chaperones.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
