Event Details

British band Keane come to Amoeba Music on Haight St. in San Francisco for a free in-store mini concert on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in support of their ace new album Strangeland.

  • The concert is free, but you should arrive early – Amoeba can get crowded!
  • To get a wristband for a spot in the signing line, you’ll need to buy the record at Amoeba.

Four years have elapsed since Perfect Symmetry and two since Night Train, the EP that followed its three full-length predecessors to the top of the British album charts, securing the band a place in pop history. If Keane’s feverishly loyal fan base wondered what the group’s next album would sound like, they weren’t the only ones.

On Strangeland, we find ourselves in the company of adults attempting to make sense of their present situation. Life gets better, the human attachments you make grow deeper and, along the way, ambitions are realized. Strangeland saw the notion of fun resurface in the shared world of Keane in a way that it hadn’t quite done since the sessions for Hopes & Fears.

See them for free at Amoeba, or catch them on June 30th at Fox Theater.
