Join us for a free, Valentine’s Day film screening of two movies shot at local museum Legion of Honor, in celebration of the Legion of Honor’s centennial year. Featured films include Alfred Hithcock’s Vertigo and Adam Shankman’s The Wedding Planner — both partially shot on location at the museum.
These screenings take place on Free Saturdays – every Saturday, we offer free general admission to all residents of the nine Bay Area counties. Bay Area guests who come for the movies are also welcome to roam the galleries before or after for free.
Schedule:
Vertigo (1958) – 11am
Alfred Hitchcock’s film starring James Stewart and Kim Novak features the Legion of Honor as a major filming location. The museum’s Gallery 6 was used for the fictional “Portrait of Carlotta Valdes.”
The Wedding Planner (2001) – 2pm
In The Wedding Planner, the Legion of Honor is the backdrop for a romantic scene. The film stars Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey who stroll through the museum’s courtyard.
