San Francisco Main Public Library | 100 Larkin St, San Francisco, CA 94102

Event Details

The Henry Rios mystery novels, featuring a gay, Latino criminal defense lawyer, were awarded six Lambda Literary Awards and their author, Michael Nava, was acclaimed “one of the best” mystery writers by the New York Times. He was awarded the Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement in LGBT literature in 2001.

To mark the publication by San Francisco-based Korima Press of Lay Your Sleep Head, Nava’s revision of the first Rios novel (The Little Death, Alyson Press 1986), Nava will be in conversation with the equally distinguished gay literary icon, Kevin Killian. Nava will discuss his decision to revise the Rios novels 30 years after the publication of the first book.
