Come out and celebrate the 4th Harvey Milk Day on Sunday, May 22, 2012 with a rally and march in honor of one of SF’s legends.

The rally and march takes place at Jane Waner Plaza, at the corner of Castro and Market in San Francisco.

Harvey Milk Day is California’s day of recognition for civil rights activist Harvey Milk, who was assassinated in 1978. Harvey Milk Day is also a celebration of Milk’s beloved Castro neighborhood and its vibrant culture and history.

Honoring Milk at Castro Muni Station – Re-Dedication ceremony.
May 19, 2012 – Saturday – 1:00 p.m.

Unveiling of 3-by-2 foot brass plaque honoring Harvey Milk. Castro Community Benefit District, PG&E, Department of Public Works all helped to install new brass Plaque. After the re-dedication ceremony at the site, known as Harvey Milk Plaza, there will be a march to Milk’s former camera shop where a number of Milk’s friends and elected officials will address the crowd.
