Show off your illuminated bike or glowing gear and join host Robin Marks of Discovery Street Tours for a fun and safe illuminated bike ride around the city, with stops for socializing and experiencing multiple stunning light art installations along the way.
Free, but an RSVP is required.
The evening will get rolling at 6 pm where riders should gather next to Cupid’s Span, the bayside sculpture by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. The ride will begin with a tribute to The Bay Lights and the brilliant community who made Leo Villareal’s installation possible. Robin will lead the group on a mostly flat, 4-5 mile route passing multiple holiday light displays and five more Illuminate SF artworks including; Soma, Language of the Birds, Skygarden, Firefly and “…and my room still rocks like a boat on the sea” (Caruso’s Dream).
Don’t forget to charge your batteries, cell phones and cameras, you’re going to want photos.
