Marine Mammal Center Science Sunday | Sausalito

baby sealJoin the Marine Mammal Center for Marine Science Sunday – a free engaging ocean-inspired classroom series for kids and adults from the center’s education experts taking place from 10 am to 5 pm on the second and fourth Sunday of the month.

The center offers educational programs and docent-led tours, plus numerous exhibits and public viewing areas where visitors can see volunteers and staff in action with marine mammal patients.

This month we celebrate the animals that love to travel! Marine mammals are famous for their epic migrations along the California coast. Docent-led tours will take you around the hospital showcasing some of the patients we are caring for and how our veterinarians are getting them better. Classroom presentations through interactive activities and multimedia will highlight animals such as the gray whale, which has the longest single migration of any mammal in the world, the Sperm whale, and the Blue Whale, the largest animal in the World. All of these animals can be viewed off the coast of California so come find out the best times and places to see these magnificent creatures.
