Join the annual hikers’ gathering on the mountain top (Visitors’ Center area, actually). After a ridge-top saunter from Rock Spring to East Peak, schmoozing, eating and possibly meeting old acquaintances, descend into the North Side for our return. Distance is about 8 miles with roughly 1100 elevation gain.

Bring: Hat, layered clothing, boots, plenty of water, lunch and maybe goodies to share at East Peak. Heavy rain cancels.
