Events at Omnivore Books On Food
Omnivore Books on Food is a teeny Noe Valley bookstore, their shelves packed floor to ceiling with hundreds of new, antiquarian, and collectible titles, on all manner of food and cooking.
The store hosts frequent events including book signings, chef talks, author readings, cooking contests, and food and drink tastings.
Every year, the San Francisco Public Library chooses a book for its One City One Book reading challenge. This fall, the choice is Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin, and Omnivore Books is celebrating like it’s 1976 with a “Munchies” contest.
To enter, make your favorite munchies for everyone to try; at stake is a free copy of the book and half the door money, and the more entrants, the merrier. Omnivore Books welcomes tasters, too, because you’ll be judging your favorite and helping them pick a winner. Come one, come all, come ready to party.
Free for contestants; $5 for tasters-only.
