Original Famous Twang Sundays is a free, all-ages concert series at Thee Parkside in Potrero Hill.

Come by every Sunday; there’s always a fresh traditional or contemporary live act and a surprise special to purchase from the kitchen.

Sunday, October 12th Original Famous Twang Sundays welcomes Smooth Hound Smith and Thirteen Button Trousers to Thee Parkside.

Smooth Hound Smith is a foot stompin’ American roots and blues duo comprised of “One-Man-Band” Zack Smith (guitars/vocals/foot drums/harmonicas) and Caitlin Doyle (vocals/percussion). Established in 2012, they record and perform a varied and unique style of folky, garage-infused rhythm & blues. Using primal foot percussion, complex, fuzzed-out, finger-picked guitar patterns, warbled harmonicas, tasty harmonies and a lot of tambourine, they are able to create something rugged and visceral – a modern interpretation of early blues, soul, and rock ‘n’ roll music that harkens back to the traditions of hazy front porch folk songs as well as raucous back-alley juke joints.

Thirteen Button Trousers formed by former sailors, Mike Hudgins and Matt Gentz, joined by mandolinist bombshell Erica Smith and, bad, bad mother trucker Carl Ohlsen are not to be flexed with. Rounding out the mix is Brendan Allen on the fiddle. No one knows what to make of their nautical and Navy themed bluegrass sing-alongs deemed, sailorgrass by the band and close drinking buddies.
