Parol-Marking Workshop: Beautiful Filipino Lanterns | SoMa
Get ready for the annual San Francisco Parol Lantern Festival and Parade by making beautiful Filipino lanterns with the Bayanihan Community Center (BCC) in the SoMa district.
The Parol Lantern Festival & Parade takes place on Saturday, December 10, 2016 and is a memorable evening of lights, music, games and a celebration of the Filipino community.
2016 Parol-Marking Workshops
Fridays, October 21-December 2, 2016 | 5:30-8 pm
(no workshop on Friday, November 25, 2016)

FREE workshop and first lantern. Other lantern materials cost $6-7.Parol-Making Materials
If you’re making a parol for the first time, there’s no charge to make your first parol. Additional parol kits are available for purchase; it’s $6 for 12-inch parols and $7 for 18-inch parols.
Parol kits include everything you need to get started building a star lantern: bamboo sticks, twist ties, rubber bands, tissue paper and cellophane. Available colors for cellophane are pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white.
If you have participated before, please re-use parol frames from previous years.
