Event Details

Register for this free workshop, where you’ll create an original poem inspired by Crissy Field and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

Led by acclaimed poet Jodie Hollander, the Poetry in the Parks: Share Your Voice workshops invite participants to slow down, observe the landscape, and create original poems inspired by their personal connection to Crissy Field and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. No poetry experience is necessary.

At this workshop, participants are invited to turn close observation of the natural world into vivid, memorable poems. Together, the group will read examples of poems that capture the wonder and beauty of nature, then explore techniques such as metaphor, imagery, repetition, sound, and line breaks.

Registration is required. Workshops are free and limited to 25 participants per session. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook, pen, comfortable layers, and a willingness to explore the park through words.

Disclaimer: Please double check event information with the event organizer as events can be canceled, details can change after they are added to our calendar, and errors do occur.
