Event Details

The Port of San Francisco is turning 150 years old this year and will be co-leading a history bike tour with the SF Bicycle Coalition on April 28, 2013.

RSVP is required. $5 for non-members. Free for SF Bike Coalition members.

Come hear about the history of the Port’s creation, and the path the agency has taken to become not only a world-renowned destination, but also a vibrant and active industrial, cargo, recreational boating, and commercial fishing port.

Port staff will be sharing the history of many locations on the route from the ship repair drydock at Pier 70 to the fishermen’s chapel and fleet at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Please note, rain cancels the ride.

After the ride, attendees are encouraged to join in the additional celebrations during Maritime Day on the Waterfront from 10am-5pm.
