Omnivore Books on Food is a teeny Noe Valley bookstore, their shelves packed floor to ceiling with hundreds of new, antiquarian, and collectible titles, on all manner of food and cooking.
The store hosts frequent events including book signings, chef talks, author readings, cooking contests, and food and drink tastings.

Here’s how it works: Anyone can enter a sweet or savory, soft or lumpy pudding in our contest and enter for free (bring it just before 3 p.m. in a bowl with a serving spoon – we will provide small cups to portion it out). Anyone just tasting pays us $5 at the door. Everyone gets to judge their favorite, so the idea is to taste as many puddings as possible and pick a favorite.
The winner splits the door money with us
