Event Details

Every month at the Richmond’s lovely Bazaar Cafe host Juliana Gallin presents “How-To Night,” a mini-workshop on just about anything.

THIS MONTH’S TOPIC: Jesus of Nazareth is arguably the most famous person in history. Even those who doubt his divinity accept that he was an extraordinary historical figure — wasn’t he? As it turns out, maybe not.

In HOW TO DEBUNK THE HISTORICAL JESUS, biblical historical writer Dave Fitzgerald will discuss ten beloved Christian myths. This is a free event but please buy a coffee or toffee bar from the cafe.

He argues that not only these myths aren’t true, they clearly point to a Jesus Christ created solely through allegorical alchemy of hope and imagination; a messiah transformed from a purely literary, theological construct into the familiar figure of Jesus — in short, a purely mythic Christ. OUCH.

Dave’s riveting new book, Nailed: Ten Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed At All, will be available for sale at the event.
