Join us on Saturday, September 5, at Dimond Park in Oakland for a bilingual (English and Spanish) celebration of California Biodiversity Day! Explore local nature, connect with your community, and discover the incredible biodiversity of Sausal Creek.

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with a welcoming opening circle in Dimond Park’s Sequoia Grove Picnic Area, followed by guided hikes departing every 30 minutes along Sausal Creek. Enjoy nature-themed activities, educational resources, and family-friendly fun throughout the day. This free event is open to all ages and experience levels. Lunch will be provided!

Throughout the event, we will be trying to document all the species we observe on the app iNaturalist as part of the California Biodiversity Day Find 30 Species Challenge.

*While you’re welcome to register yourself, your partner, and your children, please have other adults and families fill this registration out separately so we can have liability waivers for everyone. Thank you!

El evento comenzará a las 9:30 a.m. con un círculo de bienvenida en el área de picnic “Sequoia Grove” del Parque Dimond, seguido de caminatas guiadas que saldrán cada 30 minutos a lo largo del Arroyo Sausal.

Disfruta de actividades temáticas sobre la naturaleza, recursos educativos y diversión para toda la familia durante el día. ¡Este evento es gratuito y está abierto a todas edades y niveles de experiencia! ¡Se ofrecerá almuerzo gratis!

Durante el evento intentaremos documentar todas las especies que observemos en la aplicación iNaturalist como parte del desafío Encuentra 30 Especies del Día de la Biodiversidad de California.
