Park your Prius up in Novato this Saturday for a free drive-in movie screening of the space western cult “Serenity,” a cult classic among sci-fi buffs and suspense-seekers alike.

Based on the short-lived TV series “Firefly” by Joss Whedon, “Serenity” catches up with Captain Mal and his rag-tag band of guns for hire as they seek to save one of their more mysterious crewmen from a deadly assassin.

Make sure to arrive early (and drive slowly) if you plan to park and watch from your car, though there’s lots of space for chairs and blankets in front.  Drive-in etiquette also dictates that your lights be turned off during the show.

There will also be a 20 minute intermission, where movie-goers can donate for snacks like popcorn, hot dogs and themed cupcakes, as well as a raffle, which includes a movie-themed prize pack.

So prepared to get spooked by a psychic in an entirely different star system, all while watching this award-winning film from the comfort of your back seat.
