Join Nature in the City for a unique event that combines the natural and cultural history of Fisherman’s Wharf. You’ll enjoy a scenic walk along the waterfront to check out the sea lions and learn all about them and the history of the wharf.
Sea Lion Waterfront Stroll, Talk & Exhibit

FREE (RSVP is requested)Starting at the Sea Lion Center at Pier 39 and learn from naturalists at Aquarium of the Bay about the sea lions and their history at the wharf.
Then taking a scenic stroll along the waterfront and end up at the award-winning Waterfront Exhibit at the Visitor Center of San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. There will also have a “Sea Lion Shenanigans!” presented by Jenifer Lopez. After the talk, there will have time on the viewing deck to observe and learn more about the sea lions.
Next you will head down Fisherman’s Wharf to visit The Waterfront Exhibit in San Francisco Maritime’s visitor center. The exhibit recreates six historical waterfront neighborhoods, and invites visitors to take a walk along the edge. Visit a wind-swept Yelamu village at the Golden Gate. Find Gold Rush ships buried under the Barbary Coast. Hear the clamor along the shore and get lost in the stories that made “Frisco” a legendary port.
Don’t forget to bring your hat, water, walking shoes and layered clothing. Binoculars and a camera will come in handy as well.
