Our New Year’s Eve concert is a 70 year tradition! We begin with the thrilling world premeire of Sumi Tonooka’s “Sketch at Seven,” a collaboration with the SF Conservatory’s Emerging Black Composer’s Project. And you won’t want to miss our exciting Debut Artist, Palo Alto’s own, cellist Sara Flexer, performing Schumann’s Cello Concerto. And for the second half of the program, enjoy the SFCO in full form for Schuber’s 9th Symphony, nicknamed “The Great.”
We are a Member-Supported organization. SFCO Members may enter the hall at 6:30 to choose their perfect seats while the doors open for non-members at 7:15. These concerts fill up quickly and that early entry Membership perk helps assure the best spots. These fully tax-deductible Memberships last for one year from joining and apply to all of our MainStage concerts throughout the season. Plus, our Memberships ensure that there are never any barriers to entry and that world class orchestral music belongs to everyone!
