Coyote Lake (meet at the Dam parking lot, north end of the lake) | 10840 Coyote Lake Road, Gilroy, CA

Event Details

Visit one of California’s rarest habitats. The unusual soil in Serpentine Habitat supports many one of a kind plant and animals.

Join Ranger Crockett at the Dam Parking Lot at Coyote Lake, near Gilroy. From there you’ll take a leisurely loop hike up the Harvey Bear Trail, and then along the Calaveras Trail. You’ll see what’s blooming, take in the great views of the lake and valley, learn how some of these plants were use by Native Americans.

If this sounds like fun call Ranger Crockett at 408 842-7800 to register. The hike is free, but there is a $6.00 vehicle entrance fee charged.

Getting There: The address on the map will take you to the entrance of the park. There is only one road in and out of the park so just drive up until it ends and you hit the dam at the North end of the lake.
