Local music fans are gearing up for warm weather and smooth sounds with the arrival of Stanford Shopping Center’s Summer Jazz Series. Performing in the 25th year of the popular, free jazz series are artists such as Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Times 4 and Le Jazz Hot Quartet.

The ten-week concert series is hosted by Stanford Shopping Center and produced by SFJAZZ, a leading non-profit jazz organization on the West Coast .

Weather Wayne with Michael Zilber – July 7

Headed by leading San Francisco-based saxophonist and composer Michael Zilber, Weather Wayne focuses on the music of saxophone legend Wayne Shorter, particularly the joyful, infectious pieces Shorter composed for Weather Report in the ’70s and ’80s. Zilber is joined by Bay Area jazz stars Matt Clark on keyboards, bassist Dan Feiszli, drummer John Mader and percussionist Markinho Brasil.
