NYE at Christmas in the Park: East Coast Countdown & Live Music | San Jose
For over 30 years, Plaza de Cesar Chavez has been transformed into Christmas in the Park, a holiday fantasy with over 60 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree.
One of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, includes a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of decorated trees. Children can have their photograph taken with Santa, watch nightly entertainment and enjoy holiday themed refreshments.
It’s free to visit Christmas in the Park with your friends and families, but it is expensive to produce Christmas in the Park every year and they ask you to visit the food court or to make a donation to the program.
Christmas in the Park runs, November 24, 2017 – January 7, 2018.
Christmas in the Park officially opens for the 2017 season on November 24 at 6:00 pm starting with the Community Giving Tree Lighting Ceremony. From then on, the event is open every day, including Christmas, from 9am to midnight through January 7, 2018.
Join Christmas in the Park at 7 pm on New Year’s Eve as they celebrate 2017 with a fun evening filled with holiday cheer and Christmas fun.
Once again, the New Year’s Eve celebration features live music by SAGE. They will have a special family oriented attraction from 7 pm-9 pm, conduct an “East Coast” countdown and then SAGE takes the stage until the new year.
Christmas in the Park is free to explore and it’s open on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2017 from 9 am and they will stay open until just past midnight.
