“Last Night” DIY New Years Eve Parade & Street Party | Santa Cruz
Saturn Cafe Parking lot | Pacific and Spruce, Santa Cruz, CA No Comment
New Year’s 2009/10, the Last Night DIY Parade and Street Party will take over the streets of Santa Cruz for the fifth straight year.
This do-it-yourself, grassroots de-centralized celebration includes a parade of musicians, street theater performers, puppet shows, square dancers, and circus acts (aka whatever those who show up want to do) to take over downtown for a whole evening of DIY adventure and entertainment.
The celebration will meet at sunset (around 5pm) near the Saturn Cafe parking lot on Pacific & Spruce in Santa Cruz. Meet at the Saturn Cafe lot, Pacific & Parade will take off at 5:30pm and end in a street party at a “secret” location nearby.
About Last Night: New Year’s eve crammed with jugglers, clowns, samba drums, pirates, bikes, and marching bands. The usual city- and corporate-sponsored New Year’s eve event? Hardly. This is Last Night Santa Cruz, a people’s parade and street party. It is a do-it-yourself celebration that goes beyond the now-defunct First Night event, canceled in Santa Cruz years ago due to money problems.
