For the third year in the row the minor league San Jose Giants baseball club comes to the rescue even thought the city of San Jose is not hosting an official 4th of July Fireworks show.
The Giants hosts the Modesto Nuts at 6:30pm (with tickets as low as $10) but more importantly from anywhere near the stadium you can watch the post-game fireworks show for free. Fireworks at approx. 9:30pm

Free Fireworks Viewing Locations:
For 2011 there are no “official” areas outside the stadium for watching the fireworks as in years past, but one nearby park is scheduled to stay open late.
Kelley Park (Story Rd. at Senter Rd.) normally closes 1/2 hour after sunset, but San Jose Parks & Rec says that they’ll “probably” be letting people stay to watch the fireworks from the park.
The Parking Situation: Please be aware that there will only be four parking lots open in the area at $10/car.
- No parking is allowed on Center Road.
- Street parking is available on Alma, but the street might be blocked off due to heavy traffic.Areas that will be closed off to the public:
- San Jose State University East Field (Next to Spartan Stadium ) - closed to the public
- Soccer Fields (Alma btwn Senter Rd and 10th Street) – closed to the public
