The Goethe-Institut celebrates the 200th year anniversary with two exhibitions and several other events. Enjoy a joint art exhibit by German Artists from the Bay.
The opening reception starts at 6:30pm on April 26, 2012, not 10am as was originally posted.
The Goethe-Institut San Francisco invited well-known German artists from the Bay Area to create their own interpretation of the 200-year anniversary of the Brothers Grimm. The artists will present paintings, drawings, photos and installations exclusively created for this event and to honor the 200-year anniversary of the Grimm Fairy Tales.
The world famous fairy tale collection by the Brothers Grimm was first published in 1812. This collection of fairy tales is – beside the Lutheran Bible – the best known and most widely read book of German cultural history. Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel or Sleeping Beauty – young and old knows the Grimm fairy tales.
