Berkeley Symphony’s brand-new Music Director Joseph Young makes his first official community appearance for a live, open air performance at Berkeley Symphony Live On the Plaza on October 13, 2019 at 4 pm.
Displaying its adventurous, award-winning programming and commitment to new music, selected musicians from the Orchestra will perform arrangements of some of the most popular masterworks in classical music history including Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and Brahms Hungarian Dance No. 5, alongside more recent works by acclaimed composers Gabriela Lena Frank and George Walker.
Audience members will also be invited onto the podium to conduct music by some of their favorite composers while receiving expert instruction, tips and support from our very own Joseph Young. All ages are welcome and no experience is necessary.
