SF’s “Free Wifi” Prank Has Insanely Long Password

Half kind and half evil but 100% hilarious.

Thanks to SF Gate and The Indian Express for giving us great background about this pretty funny “free wifi” flyer a viral San Francisco prankster posted a few weeks ago.

Pablo Rohat, an SF-based digital creative artist known for cheeky pranks, posted a video of a flyer promising free wifi with the network name of “Goodluck” and a crazy-long password that extended far off the flyer.

Helpful Twitter commentators mentioned that with OCR it wouldn’t be too difficult to capture the password, and also mention that typically the longest password allowed with WPA2 is 63 characters. So would it work? It gave us a laugh so we don’t really care.

FYI, here’s how to really get free WiFi throughout much of San Francisco using the city’s #SFWiFi along Market Street and in select parks.
