43rd Annual Dia de Los Muertos Procession
November 2, 2024 | Gather at 6pm – Procession at 7pm-ish, Runs until 9pm-ish

FREE2024 Procession Details: Join the Mission District Community in celebrating our ancestors, those relatives and loved ones that continue in our memories, as we procession through the streets of the Mission District on November 2, the procession begins at 7 pm, on the corner of 22 and Bryant to 24th y Bryant west to 24 th y Mission street, north to 22 and mission back to 22 y Bryant. Because we procession it usually takes about 2 hours to complete, with the Azteca Dancers leading the way, stopping at each main corner of the four stops and performing a ritual dance to that direction. The procession is organized by El Collectivo del Rescate Cultural de La Mission
- Afterward, make sure to stroll through the Mission to shop, eat and support the neighborhood businesses that desperately need your help.
Festival of Altars (Confirmed for 2024) – 8am to 6pm
On November 2, 2024, Day of the Dead Festival of Altars will be held in Potrero Del Sol Park aka La Raza Park (25th St. and San Bruno Ave.) Please come and participate in building an altar or come to view the community altars.
Installation begins @ 8am | Ceremony begins @ 12pm |Performances begins @ 5pm
The making and viewing of traditional, contemporary, or experimental altars is a uniquely transformative experience connecting us closer to our Ancestors. Bring flowers, 8-inch glass prayer candles, and mementos of loved ones to contribute to the Community Altars.
