Join us for a family-friendly classical concert outdoors on Courthouse Square on June 24, featuring Redwood Symphony’s talented local musicians.
This concert offers a great introduction to classical music for children. Exposure to classical music can improve listening skills, increase attention span, enhance creativity, and promote relaxation and stress relief. Moreover, it can also inspire children to take up an instrument, learn to read music, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
Redwood Symphony is an all-volunteer orchestra dedicated to the performance of ambitious, contemporary repertoire, as well as the great orchestral classics. The innovative programming and emphasis on education are two reasons so many of the most talented musicians from throughout the San Francisco Bay Area volunteer their time to play, and why our audience and local critics are so enthusiastic.
Prepare to be captivated by an exquisite program, including Aaron Copland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man,” Leonard Bernstein’s “Overture to Candide,” Felix Mendelssohn’s enchanting Violin Concerto with the extraordinary Claudia Bloom, Edvard Grieg’s evocative “Morning” from Peer Gynt, and the grandeur of Peter Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, enhanced by digital cannons (going off at about 8:00pm- for those sensitive or who need to prepare children for louder sounds).
Don’t miss this enjoyable family event! Best of all, it’s FREE!
